First, Happy New Year to one and all! May 2009 suck not too much.
Our main January release is a massively ambitious SF novel by Brian Stableford which spans from the 19th century to no less than the end of time. People who liked Stephen Baxter's THE TIME SHIPS with its blend of HG wells and far futuristic vistas will love Brian's epic. Sherlock Holmes and Dracula are only two of the protagonist in a saga that also features William Hope Hodgson, Oscar Wilde, Wells, Camille Flammarion and other literary figures. It is hard to encapsulate such a complex novel in a single sentence or so, but its main theme is how vampires fit in the future history of humanity. Some of the texts included in this book were in fact previously published in INTERZONE as " The Hunger and Ecstasy of Vampires".
The cover painting is by Italian artist Danielle Serra.
Our other two releases this month are the fourth volume collecting Stephen R. Bissette's film reviews in book form -- BLUR 4 -- and Volume 2 of our Hexagon Comics trade paperback series devoted to the alien superhero team STRANGERS, which is both prequel and sequel to the 2003 Image 6-issue mini-series... After HOMICRON, it is now the turn of JAYDEE, by Danilo Grossi. (STARLOCK will be next.)[/img] |
