This one has a story about a utopian city built on pylons above the French countryside, and the story of an alien world where women reproduce parthenogenetically and men are unknown. Cover by Mandy.
LAMEKIS (1735-3 is a phenomenal work, the first high fantasy epic long before William Morris or George McDonald. Penned by a friend of Voltaire this stunning saga has it all: subterranean world, worm-men, celestial island, other races & cultures... and even the author solicited by his characters! THE VENGEANCE OF THE OVAL PORTRAIT (1898/1922) is a collection of remarkable Edgar Allan Poe-like stories mixing horror, fantasy and a little SF from Gabriel de Lautrec, a French writer rather unjustly forgotten today. Cover by JM Ponzio.
